Fundraisng success at Carsphairn Market

Carsphairn held their annual community market on Saturday 7th in Lagwyne Hall, as part of the Glenkens Food month, which runs throughout the month of September.

The event took place in collaboration with the local children’s group Bairn Banter and hosted a wide selection of stalls from Carsphairn and beyond.  Local producers of fruit and vegetables, honey, jams and preserves, skilled crafters, fundraising stalls, baked goods, a mini leather workshop, bric-a-brac, information stalls and exotic hand-made rugs, all took up the opportunity of a free table, to sell their wares in support the local event.

To accompany the exclusive shopping experience, a wide variety of delicious refreshments were available to buy and enjoy within the pop-up café lounge area or outside in the Lagwyne Hall garden area.  The proceeds from the Bairn Banter fundraising table and the tea/coffee and cake sales will be put towards their annual Halloween Party which will take place on 2nd November.

Melissa Ade, Bairn Banter's Lead Parent said:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generous and supportive donations of baking, produce, plants, bric-a-brac, etc that has helped raise funds towards the Bairn Banter Halloween party. The total amount of funds raised from the tea/coffee sales and the fundraising stall was a fantastic £168.16!

I would also like to say a big thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who baked a variety of delicious treats, and also to those who helped serve the refreshments, man the stall and tidy up on the day. Finally, thank you to the stall holders who brought such a variety of crafts, produce and information to the market. It was a wonderful community event. Thank you everyone! “
