The 2024 Great Corsock Show offers 57 categories of competitive fun!
The Great Corsock Show is coming! On Saturday, 24th of August, this much-loved Stewartry tradition will allow the great and the good of home baking, crafting, scarecrow fashioning, vegetable growing and homemade drink brewing to cheerily pit their skills against each other.
Not thought about what categories to enter? There is still time. Leaflets available from local outlets, from Corsock Hall porch and online here: https://corsockhall.wixsite.com/home/post/corsock-show-2024 or by clicking on the cover.
Entries can be dropped off at Corsock Hall on Friday 23rd August between 7pm and 8.30pm, or on Saturday 24th August between 9.30am and 10.45am.
At 10.45am, the doors will be sealed and judging takes place.
At 1pm, a ribbon will be cut to open the show, allowing exhibitors and general public to peruse entries and see the winners.
2.30pm onwards will hold the presentation of awards, the raffle draw and produce auction.
This year the ribbon will be cut by Jane Ingall, village resident and community stalwart.
From 1pm, the Hall will again be hosting the ever-popular café for hot drinks and cake, there will be a BBQ outside the hall with burgers available.
Organisers are looking for donations for the raffle or bottle stall and would be very grateful for baking donations to the refreshments area. If you can help the show, either with a donation or helping on the day itself, please do get in touch with greatcorsockshow@hotmail.com. Also, keep an eye on the @CorsockHall facebook page for updates. Funds raised this year will go towards local causes.
Member of the show organising committee, McNabb Laurie, said:
“The bunting is being hung, veg is being dug, relentless cake is being made and lemon curd is competitively bubbling. The Great Corsock Show includes vegetable, baking, flower and craft categories for all ages. The Judges challenge this year is a cake including a vegetable. Our inflation proof business model retains the £1 entry fee and £1 café access.
Show participants can drop off their entries on the Saturday morning or the Friday night before. Whether participating or just assessing the entries, make the 24th of August the day that you visit Corsock!”
