Crossmichael Local Place Plan
Crossmichael & District Community Council has been asked to submit a Local Place Plan to Dumfries & Galloway Council. This is for inclusion in the next Local Development Plan which the council is currently working on.
A Local Place Plan is a very important way to ensure we can protect and improve our communities and the land around us. It's an opportunity to say what we would like to improve, change or replace and include any community benefits we would like to have. We will be contacting as many people across the parish as possible so that we can include everyone's thoughts.
Do you want more green spaces, better footpaths, better community services? Do you need better broadband, better access to the river, more community events? We know you want fewer potholes!
Future of Crossmichael Church
It is likely that the Church of Scotland is going to put Crossmichael Church up for sale.
In order to help us consider what, if anything, the community should do about this, the Community Council and Crossmichael Community Trust together commissioned an Options Appraisal from Community Enterprise, an experienced community development organisation. On the basis of a public meeting, facilitated by Community Enterprise, they have now issued a report containing an analysis of various options for our consideration.
Responses to the report, and any further ideas for the church's future, are welcome. You can send them either to the Community Council or to the Community Trust (see Contact the Crossmichael Team).
