A National Park proposal for Galloway
Scottish Ministers have proposed that a new National Park should be established in Galloway, with the potential area extending to parts of Dumfries and East and South Ayrshire. They have appointed NatureScot to be the Reporter on the proposal.
Lairdmannoch Energy Park
Wind2 is at the early stages of developing a planning application for its Lairdmannoch Energy Park near Laurieston (approximately 7km northeast of Gatehouse of Fleet and 10km west of Castle Douglas).
Dalry Local Place Plan
The Dalry Local Place Plan has been drawn up on behalf of Dalry Community Council, and aims to articulate the community's wishes for future development of the settlement and wider area, including the retention and improvement of existing facilities, housing and services, and views on land use. Closing date: 30th September.
School week structure
Dumfries and Galloway Council are consulting on proposals to change the structure of the school week, so that there are four slightly longer days and one day per week that finishes at lunchtime.
