The purpose of the Glenkens Story: Sharing our History is to promote and expand interest and knowledge in the history of the people, places, and life of the Glenkens among all who live in the area and are associated with it.
The Glenkens Story steering group
Following our 10th anniversary celebrations in March 2025 a meeting was held on 27th April to reconstitute a steering group for The Glenkens Story. Such a group had existed in the early years but numbers had since dwindled and most of the work was being done by very few people. It was therefore good to see around a dozen people attend and it was agreed to form a What’s App group to co-ordinate work on future projects. Although ideas for future meetings are always welcome, the main purpose of the group is to create a resource of people willing to help stage events.
